Editor’s Notes: VLONE, the A$AP Bari-affiliated label that has the behind-the-scenes support of Asian streetwear magnate Edison Chen, made a splash at Paris Fashion Week, taking over the Pavillion Cambon, attendees sat either inside or around a plastic wrapped box as the models walked the runway, which included friends of the brand and super-savvy casting like Long Island rapper Lil Peep, known for his plethora of facial tattoos and his hardcore-emo lyricism.
VLONE’s debut into cut-and-sew collections manifested in new takes on the kind of pieces streetwear heads already buy in droves, like trucker jackets and denim made sportier with bright track stripes, and plenty of camo. Things got a bit directional with a slew of strapped bondage pants in cotton and leather with a heavy Undercover-esque attitude, and further blurred the line between punk style and modern hip-hop modes of dress.
Of course, people are most likely to get hyped for the show’s footwear, which included a ton of never-before-seen Nike collaborations. The VLONE x Nike Air Force 1 High comes in multiple colorways, pairing a mostly black upper with bold pops of royal blue (teased earlier this week), university red, bold green, yellow, and even purple.
No telling if these will all actually release, but the other sneaker surprise of the show were two pairs of VLONE x Nike Vandal Highs, which appeared in a black/university red and black/royal blue colorway. Rounding out the kicks were several pairs of white Air Force 1 Lows with a duct tape detail covering the sole and heel. No word yet on drop dates (or which of the show samples will go onto full production), but we can probably expect to see something come New York Fashion Week—it’d be a logical follow-up to last season’s VLONE x Nike Harlem pop-up, after all.
