For this year’s Air Max Day celebration, Nike is paying special attention to the venerable Air Max 1, which turns 30 years old in 2017. The milestone is being recognized with a number of special AM1 releases, including a mashup of iconic colorways contained in the Nike Air Max 1 “Master.” Shoppers will get a crack at the shoe when it has its retail launch on March 25 — the eve of Air Max Day — but it turns a lucky few will get their hands an exclusive Friends and Family colorway of the Air Max 1 “Master.” It features the same multi-panel mudguard and gum rubber outsole, but the black leather upper is swapped out with a clean white shade, complete with both smooth and perforated textures. Word on the street is that the shoe is limited to just 50 pairs.
